Through our activities (age relevant and funding-wise) we offer an opportunity for D/deaf children and young people the confidence to explore and challenge themselves in a safe environment; develop their social & peer skills; provide opportunities for them to express their feelings, emotions, concerns and ideas for their futures; become confident in their own abilities and to help them work towards and achieve their goals with support from friends and staff.
Many of our participants say that using our services is a good way to have a sense of belonging to a community that feels the ‘same’. This provides them with a sense of identity, develops language and cultural awareness in order to equip them with skills to develop themselves.
We currently have the following groups:
- Under 12’s (age 6 – 11)
- Over 12’s (age 12 – 17)
- CODA Youth Club (Hearing kids of Deaf adults)
- School holiday activities
Our staff are aged 18+ and are a mixture of d/Deaf and hearing people. Check out our ‘What’s On’ for activities we run.
